The KATZ Family wouldn't be what it is without our staff who put their heart and soul into each and every student who walks through our doors.
THE COTTON FAMILY
Owners
Jon & Janell Cotton bought KATZ Gymnastics in 2011 while stationed at Cannon Air Force Base. KATZ is a family business for them, and they view their staff as an extension of that family. They've watched the gym grow over the years and through three buildings, cultivating leaders out of their staff as well as the gymnasts that walk through the door. They recognize that success looks differently for everyone and their hope is that every athlete that joins us at KATZ experiences their own form of success while here, whether that be gaining confidence, learning something new, facing fears, or reaching a competition goal.
Jon & Janell and their children Sydney & Shawn, currently reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
COACH JAZLYN
Recreational Coach
Meet Coach Jazlyn! Jazlyn started with us in August 2018. She did tumbling for four years and played basketball. Jazlyn loves herself some tea! She also enjoys school and is currently a senior at Clovis High School with plans to study diagnostic radiology at UNM after she graduates. All of our tiniest gymnast love coach Jazlyn and loves getting a chance to see all of their different personalities come out each and every class!
COACH EDDWINIA
Manager, Assistant Team Coach, Recreational Coach
Meet Coach Eddwinia! Eddwinia was a cheerleader for six years, participated in all-star soccer for 4 years, and did artistic gymnastics for 2 years. She has been coaching with us at KATZ since 2009. Fun Fact: Coach Eddwinia plans to attend dental school someday and holds both an associate’s and bachelor’s degree in preparation for it! Halloween is her favorite holiday by far, and she loves to use “warm fuzzies” to her make her coaching staff feel appreciated! She’s happiest coaching beam, but she loves just getting to be in the gym, and lifting up athletes to help them face their fears makes her incredibly happy!! She might just be our athletes’ biggest cheerleader!
COACH TAYLOR
Recreational Coach
Meet Coach Taylor! Taylor started gymnastics in 2010 and is still at it as a member of our Xcel Team! Now, on top of competing, she coaches on her days off from practice. Taylor loves cats, the book “Pennyroyal Academy,” and The Snack That Smiles Back (Gold Fish)! Her favorite event to coach is the balance beam, but she loves practicing and performing floor.
COACH BEVERLY
Head Team Coach, Recreational Curriculum Coordinator
Meet Coach Beverly! Beverly was a gymnast for 6 years, and has over twenty years of experience coaching in artistic gymnastics as well as trampoline and tumbling! She has been coaching with us at KATZ since 2014. You’ll never find Coach Beverly without her iced tea and a helping hand for all of our coaches here at KATZ! She likes to travel in her free time, and spend time with her family! While she prefers coaching beam, bars, and floor, she truly loves helping kids grow in both their athleticism as well as their sportsmanship!
